For the first time the workshop will bring together scientists and technicians from many European countries, having expertise in
different disciplines. Thus it will offer a platform for intra- and interdisciplinary exchange of knowledge on powdery scab/mop top.
The aim is to produce guidelines for standardised methods for disease assessment and seed testing. The given information will be
consolidated for wider dissemination to growers and scientists in the form of a book (proceedings) and also available on the Internet.
If possibilities for further research are identified and decisions regarding potential collaborations are made it is planned to
produce a EU proposal for a joint research project. There are deadlines in October 2000 and February 2001.
